About a month ago, PBS suspended distribution of Tavis Smiley's late night show, Tavis Smiley, due to allegations of "sexual misconduct" against the talk show host.

Having vehemently denied these allegations, Smiley plans to launch a new weekly online series, the Washington Post reports.

Called The Upside With Tavis Smiley, the new show will be distributed by the Word Network, which bills itself as the “largest African American religious network in the world.”

“We are thrilled to have Tavis share his insightful programming with our vast audience,” said the network's chief executive, Kevin Adell, in a statement via Facebook. Smiley also posted a video on the social media platform announcing the new deal.

Along with the new show, Smiley announced a five-city tour of town-hall conversations called, “The Conversation: Women, Men and the Workplace." The town halls will consist of him discussing “how to create safe and healthy work environments.”

“The polling is all over the place regarding what women and men think about where the lines are, and what constitutes acceptable office protocol,” Smiley said, adding, “We need to have a national dialogue about these issues so women and men know how to engage each other in the workplace.”

Asked whether it might have been better to wait for an opportunity to return to television, Smiley told the Associated Press, “You can only make decisions based on what’s in front of you. You can’t make decisions based on what might happen, on what may come.”

Smiley also added that he believes that as a "black man in America," chances of having his own major network show again are slim.

The Upside With Tavis Smiley is expected to debut on the Word Network this spring.
