This week, Maxine Waters made a guest appearance on The Breakfast Club, and was asked about the possibility of an all black political party in the U.S.

The California Congresswoman did not rule out the idea entirely, but suggested that the time isn't right.

"No, not at this point,” Waters said. “You have to show that you’re willing and you’re able to put the numbers together and exercise your influence.”

Waters explained that she believes that before there can be an all black political party, there must first be more political engagement from the black populace.

“We still are not voting our influence yet,” she said. “What we should do is organize our power, exercise our power, particularly in the Democratic Party because that’s where most of us are.”

Waters also stressed that African Americans should "go to the conventions, be delegates, we should run for office, all of that and then you can raise that kind of question."

Waters has been on something of a media blitz lately.

On AM Joy over the weekend, she addressed the Trump administration's new hard-line stance on leakers,  and said that the leaks are the president's fault at the end of the day.

"The president gave classified information to Russians in the White House. Our ally, Israel, was very upset with us. So start with him, number one. Number two, if people around you are leaking in the way they’re doing, they’re trying to tell us something."

Oh course, when any popular politician begins doing this many interviews, rumors begin to swirl about shooting for the White House.

Waters addressed these recently on The View.

The hosts asked her explicitly if she planned to run, and in true Queen Maxine fashion, Waters answered, "I am not running for anything except the impeachment of Trump."

With her being honored recently at Black Girls Rock and with her showing all of us how to reclaim our time, Representative Maxine Waters, will no doubt continue to demonstrate realness with a side of poise.
