‘Sisters of Comedy’ is the only all black women comedy show at top clubs in New York City, and their 2016 season recently started at Carolines. Their next show is on May 5 at 9:30 p.m. and is something you won’t want to miss if you’re a fan of Prince (and really, who isn’t?).

Agunda Okeyo is the producer of the monthly show, and on May 5th will be hosted by Broad City’s Michelle Buteau, Rae Sanni of GQ.com, Del Harrison of FOX’s Laughs, Phoebe Robinson of Late Night with Seth Myers and WNYC, and Jean Grae, a South African hip-hop artist, writer and actor who you might know from The New York Times, NPR or The Guardian.

The show will be dedicated to Prince, and there’s a special commemoration by Jean Grae and others to look forward to.

Okeyo, a writer, producer, filmmaker and activist, has also produced shows at Gotham Comedy Club and Ginny’s Supper Club and has been recognized in Time Out New York, The New Yorker, Essence, The Root, Forbes, and more.
