Sunday night’s episode of American Idol was jam-packed with incredible auditions and Kevin Gullage’s performance was nothing short of amazing.
The New Orleans native stunned the judges with his cover of the soulful classic “That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding. Not only did Gullage showcase his impressive piano skills, but he also put his phenomenal vocals on display, which the judges likened to something “from another lifetime ago.”
Katy Perry gave Kevin Gullage a standing ovation following his audition.
Kevin Gullage’s audition was so good, it brought Katy Perry to her feet.
After performing a soulful cover of Otis Redding’s “That’s How Strong My Love Is,” the American Idol judges were left stunned by Gullage’s show stopping voice.
“Now Kevin, I grew up with that song,” Lionel Richie began.”That song required exactly what you gave it. It was incredible.”
“Kevin, one of those ad-libs was from another lifetime ago. That was crazy,” Katy Perry gushed.
Richie went on to add that Gullage has so much flavor. “It’s going to be such an exciting adventure,” he said.
Gullage received three yeses from the judges, making him one of the many contestants set to compete in Hollywood.
