nullAs you may recall last year, Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes announced that he intended to introduce a black character to the show’s cast for its fourth season, which will soon go into production.

And it was announced, just a few hours ago, that that character will played by Gary Carr, who many of you will know from his role as the young ambitious cop Fidel Best on the BBC TV series Death in Paradise.

Carr will play a singer at an exclusive night club. His role has been described as “a charming and charismatic young man”.

One of the producers of the show said that Carr’s addition to the cast “will bring interesting
twists to the
drama which we can’t wait for viewers to see in series
four,”
which I interpret to mean that he’s going to have an affair with that daughter who became a widow at the end of last season.

I’m just guessing.
