The grind never stops, especially if you’re an aspiring rapper.
With the amount of Soundcloud and social media rappers there are, artists must find new ways to get their music heard. That’s exactly what rapper Juicedakiddd did.
In anticipation of his mixtape, Soul Searching, the North Carolina Central University graduate turned to his day job to help get the news out. While working at Amazon, the music artist plastered stickers on packages that were being prepped to be shipped out, reports iHeart Radio.
“Yes sir, real deal promotion. We ain’t done yet,” he said to the camera while placing the stickers on boxes.
In a second clip, he explained his strategy, while wondering if his boss will find out.
"F**k it. They might fire me for this,” he says. “They touch 60,000 packages a day so I need to at least be on 20,000. Whose promotion better than this?”
The mixtape dropped back in December on Apple Music and Spotify, along with a few music videos.
According to a video he posted to Instagram in his Amazon uniform, Juicedakidd did not get fired from the e-commerce company.
“To everyone wondering, no I did not get fired. We’re in here working it out right now,” he said.
The young lyricist also has two other albums out on streaming platforms: Why Not, released in April of 2019, and Better Days, which was released in 2018.
Juicedakidd joins Ghanian rapper CJ Biggerman in finding innovative ways to promote themselves. Biggerman recently got the attention of rap legend Rick Ross while the “Diced Pineapples” rapper was in Ghana for the Detty Rave festival, as Blavity previously reported. Biggerman rapped his own lyrics over Ross and Jay-Z’s “F**kwithmeyouknowigotit” while the Miami native was arriving at a hotel.
Biggerman successfully caught Ross’s attention and was invited to perform with him on stage at Detty Rave. Biggerman couldn’t believe it and expressed his gratitude toward Ross.
“I want to thank the boss himself. I want to thank Rick Ross for giving me such an opportunity,” he said.
