Australian actress Shareena Clanton and New Zealander Robbie Magasiva star in the popular Australian prison drama series, Wentworth, which is set to premiere this month on the UK’s Channel 5.

The ten-part series, from Aussie network Foxtel, is a modern re-telling of the old 80’s series, Prisoner; also an Australian production.  That show aired in the UK under the title, Prisoner: Cell Block H.

Wentworth focuses on protagonist Bea Smith’s (Danielle Cormack) story, detailing how she ended up in prison, and how she came to subsequently rule the yard.

Clanton (Stone Bros, Redfern Now) plays the role of prisoner Doreen Anderson aka #335-571, while Magasiva (Lord of The Rings, The Tattooist) stars as corrections officer Will Jackson.

Wentworth airs on UK network Channel 5, on Wednesday, August 28 @ 10PM.
