Lanae Norwood is an activist, organizer, consultant and social entrepreneur who is passionate about pursuing social and economic equity for Black people, Indigenous groups, and communities of color. Lanae is the Principal of the full-service boutique firm, Lanae Norwood Consulting LLC. Her firm specializes in providing culturally congruent strategies, communications, and marketing for campaigns, issues, nonprofits, and progressive candidates. Lanae Norwood is also the National Campaigns and Organizing Director at Working Hero Action, an anti-poverty nonprofit. She co-developed the curriculum and co-facilitated a nationwide volunteer training program with Color Of Change to help increase Black voter turnout and promote community organizing in battleground states. Lanae has consulted and organized on high profile campaigns such as #schoolsnotprisons, Alliance of Boys and Men of Color, Voting While Black, Meet Your DA and AB392 (California Act to Save Lives). Lanae is committed to politically empowering marginalized families, particularly those living in poverty. She believes everyone deserves dignity and equitable opportunity for a good quality of life and that the Black community must be prioritized and centered in all movement-building and political efforts nationally. She has been recognized by Congress, the State of California and multiple other organizations for her nonprofit work. LaNae is a proud mother of two and an outdoor enthusiast.
