Music's biggest couple JAY-Z and Beyoncé are coming together for a good cause!
Us Weekly reports that the Carters plan to have a special benefit concert for those affected by the both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The show is set to take place in Jay's hometown of New York on October 17, at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
While the lineup hasn't been confirmed, Us Weekly reports that several other Roc Nation artists will join Jay and Bey on stage.
Over the last several weeks Beyoncé has been vocal and heavily involved in hurricane relief efforts, especially in her hometown of Houston, Texas after Hurricane Harvey hit the area in late August.
During the Hand In Hand Telethon on September 12, the singer gave a heartfelt speech on climate change and all of the worldwide the national disasters over the last several weeks.
"The effects of climate change are playing out around the world every day," the singer said in a pre-recorded message. "Just this past week, we've seen devastation from the monsoon in India, an 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico and multiple catastrophic hurricanes. Irma alone has left a trail of death and destruction from the Caribbean to Florida to the Southern United States. We have to be prepared for what comes next."
The concert will be Beyoncé's first performance since the giving birth to twins back in June.
Beyoncé has also used her #BeyGood organization to help recovery efforts in Texas. The organization, along with Bread of Life,
Greater Houston Community Foundation and Texas Southern University, has fed the Houston community and is still running donation drives.
After being sent $1 billion in federal funds, Texas Governor Greg Abbott requested more relief funds for the state.
Abbott believes that Texas will need over $180 billion in federal aid for the state's recovery, according to The Texas Tribune. FEMA has given Texas $364 million in individual assistance, and $181 in public assistance. Individual assistance is for those individual parties and households affected by Harvey, while the public assistance goes to cities and counties.
Hopefully Beyoncé and JAY-Z can help bridge the gap, helping to get Texas' citizens much-needed relief.
