Jay and Bey want you to get in formation behind a plant-based diet, according to a new book from Beyoncé's longtime personal trainer Marco Borges.
The two musicians ask people to consider making the switch from meat-heavy diets in the forward of a new book by Borges called The Greenprint, People reports.
"We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t," the artists write in the forward. "Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”
They continue, "Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become 'the Greenprint.'"
The book contains vegan recipes and guidance for those who'd like to make the jump to plant-based eating.
According to NME, the Carters have been experimenting with veganism for some time. The magazine notes Queen B told fans she planned to use a plant-based diet to prepare for hew now legendary Beychella performance. Ahead of the show, she wrote on Instagram, "44 Days Until Coachella!! Vegan Time!!"
The New York Times notes the Carters have collaborated with Borges on health projects before.
In 2015, the musicians invited fans to take part in Borges' 22 day vegan challenge with them. As outlined in Borges' book The 22 Day Revolution, the challenge encourages participants to improve their health by eating vegan meals for 22 days.
The challenge and book became a company led by Borges called 22 Days Nutrition that offers vegan meal delivery, protein powders and vegan snacks. Bey and Jay are, of course, investors in the firm.
