The Migos might be everyone’s favorite Atlanta rap group right now, but there’s no forgetting OutKast. And Big Boi’s set to bring the OutKast sensibility to 2017 with a new album, Boomiverse, out later this year.

Big Boi talked recently with HipHopDX about the new album, and while fresh music from the legendary MC is exciting and all, a tangent the rapper got on may prove to be of even greater interest.

It turns out that after the success of Straight Outta Compton, and with All Eyez on Me generating positive buzz, Big Boi and André  3000 have plans for a biopic of their own.

And not plans like they’ve been talking about it casually over a drink, but real, solid plans.

Big Boi says he and André “just spoke about it last week.”

André, he said “might have even been taking a couple meetings talking to people and then I got a couple of people in mind that I’ma talk to, one of them being Lee Daniels who I just did the TV show Star with so yeah, all that’s coming and we just know it’s time to do it. It’s coming!”

It doesn’t get much more emphatic than that.

And Lee Daniel directing? Can you imagine? Outkast Paperboy style? Or maybe with an Empire feel?

Too, Big has already given some thought to casting.

As to who might play him, Big Boi said, “Maybe one of my sons could it cause they look exactly like me and they know all the words to all the raps so they probably could pull it off, and they know me so I may have to do the Cube move and pick one of my sons to play me.”

When will the movie come out?

No word yet, but keep an eye here for updates.
