"Black-ish" star Marsai Martin is stepping into a new role as CEO of her very own luxury nails and care line. Martin announced that she is launching her latest project, "Mari by Marsai," on her Instagram account with 3.3 million followers.
"Y'all know I'm an artist at heart," Martin said. "and expressing myself through nails has always been a huge source of creativity for me."
The debut collection features six different styles of press-on nails, priced between $20 and $22. In addition, the brand's website includes tutorials on how to apply and remove the press-on nails and even a Mari-theme Spotify playlist.
The luxurious brand offers cruelty-free and affordable products and maintains an equal employment opportunity policy both on and off the screen.
"We aim to provide high-quality, cruelty-free, easy to use products at an attainable price-point. We are focused on being a positive impact company, contributing to the world in ways that benefit society and the individual," the statement on the website reads. "We are committed to providing equal opportunities of employment by showcasing talent of all backgrounds, behind the scenes and "on-screen" within our brand. We celebrate all humans and uplift all voices, but we hold no space for negativity."
As part of celebrating the launch of the nail line, Martin also shared some behind-the-scenes footage showing the process of creating the collection. The post included creating a mood board and presenting the designs to the brand's creative team.
Last month, Martin joined her father Joshua Martin in a campaign with Hollister's clothing brand.
According to Girls United, the "Respect the Jeans" campaign explores various ways to wear wide-fit jeans. Marsai and Joshua will share styling tips under the hashtag #HollisterTok as part of the campaign.
"I'm super excited just to be working with Hollister. When it comes to jeans, I want to make sure I'm wearing something comfortable, something with this good quality, versatile-type jeans, and Hollister is literally top tier when it comes to that," Marsai said. "I get to do it with my dad, which is even better because we never really worked together as talent together. It's always been behind the scenes or as producers."
Despite being one of the more stylish Gen-Zers in the game, Marsai maintains that she doesn't have a particular style; she goes with whatever mood she is in.
"I guess it really depends on my mood," Marsai said. "I don't think I have like a certain style, but that's the cool thing about dad jeans — they go with any mood that you have. It's very versatile in that way so it works hand in hand."
Marsai shows that bosses can run their businesses at any age.
