It has been nearly a month since Nike announced that Colin Kaepernick would be a spokesperson for their popular shoe and athletic wear brand, and in that time, the new relationship has already paid dividends.

CBS News reports Nike's market value has jumped up by $6 billion because of Kaepernick's ad campaign.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has become public enemy number one on the Right because of his 2016 protests against racism, police brutality and systematic injustice. He took a knee during the national anthem, sparking controversy and false claims that he and supporters were anti-veteran.

Over the Labor Day weekend, sales surged 31 percent because of supporters and stock prices have gone up to $85.67 per share.

"I don't think they just randomly decided to put this ad out, thinking, 'Let's commit political-correctness suicide'," said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B. Riley RBR. "People vote with their wallets, and the one clear winner in athletic apparel remains Nike."

Initially, the news of Kaep's campaign was met with boycotts on the Right, and unwavering support from those on the Left. Now, it appears the left has won out.

According to Market Watch, Nike is set to bring in revenue of about $9.93 billion for the quarter — up from $9.07 billion last year.

How has Kaepernick's personal life and career been impacted by this news? We've yet to see. However, there is speculation that NFL teams, the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders, have expressed interest in signing him.
