Blitter is a new black-owned social media app that is being hailed as what could be the new "black Twitter." For those who don't know what black Twitter is by now, it's the portion of the app that fuels the hilarious memes and amazing concepts that we see every day in the culture.
Blitter launched last Thursday on the iTunes app store, touting that it does not condone racism, sexism, harassment, bots, or hate speech. Instead, the app description says it is built on love, passion, and empathy. Apparent by the ungodly amount of trolls and bots, this is a policy that the original Twitter app doesn't execute well.
Blitter users are able to post statuses with up to 120 characters, photos, standard videos up to 15 seconds long, and “Vine-like” videos with start and stop capabilities. Users can also like posts, leave comments, use hashtags, and chat privately or in group messages.
The reactions to Blitter have been mixed. Some people are all for it.

I’m all for a black owned social media site/app but it has to be a lot more creative than Blitter(Black Twitter).

Whether you want to make that move from Twitter to Blitter or not is up to you, but we have to admit it's always great to have spaces that are for us and by us. And let's be real, if all black people made the move from Twitter, what would they have left?
Have you tried Blitter? What are your thoughts? Do you love it? Hate it? Should we make the move? The people want to know! Let us all know in the comments below.
