Well, it looks like we have yet another new reality TV series hit, based on the uber-successful Wives franchise, although not from that family of shows.
It was in November when it Bravo TV announced that it had ordered 2 new Atlanta-set reality TV series – one of them being Married to Medicine.
Although it may as well have been called Doctor Wives, or The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Doctors.
Here’s how Bravo describes it:
“Married to Medicine” follows a group of successful and educated women, including doctors and wives of doctors, who are connected to the world of medicine in Atlanta. Whether delivering babies in Louboutins or rushing off to galas in Buckhead, these women do everything with style, drama, and of course, southern flair. Produced by FremantleMedia North America and developed by Purveyors of Pop with Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Maty Buss serving as Executive Producers.
And if the trailer I posted in February was any indication, apparently ratchetness has no borders. “Educated and successful” doctors aren’t immune. They’re just as loud, obnoxious, materialistic, superficial, and are prone to physical fights involving weave pulling, and the like.
Yay!
*Sigh*
The new series debuted last night, Sunday, March 24, at 9pm on Bravo.
Did any of you watch?
According the Bravo’s press release below, almost 2 million of you watched it, making it the network’s highest-rated series premiere since 2010, and was also the most-watched non-spinoff series premiere in network history!
So, if you were one of those 2 million people, your thoughts on what you saw? More of the same garbage, or does this one actually differentiate itself in some way?
