British actor Aml Ameen (Kidulthood, Harry's Law), who I'm interviewing shortly for S&A, is the helmer of the short film Drink, Drugs and KFC. Described as "The Wood meets Superbad," the short stars Ameen, Mikel Ameen, Aaron Fontaine and others. It will air tomorrow Saturday, April 21st on UK's The Community Channel, Sky 539 and Virgin 233 at 10.30pm.
SYNOPSIS:
Drinks Drugs and KFC is a coming of age romantic comedy, which can be likened to “Super Bad” or “American Pie”. Geeky Teenager NATHAN (Kedar Williams-Stirling), finds himself in love with Montana, the most sort after girl in college, it’s his last night to proclaim his feelings, but standing in the way is her ex boyfriend MAX (Mikel Ameen) and the crew he’s trying to gain acceptance from.
The film shows a different side to the young black British experience.
