Cardi B has agreed to plead guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, two misdemeanor charges, and she has also agreed to perform 15 days of community service, all stemming from her role in an assault that took place at Angels Strip Club in Flushing, Queens, in 2018. As Blavity previously reported, the suit alleged that Cardi threw a hookah and champagne bottles at two of the strip club’s bartenders, sisters Jade and Baddie Gi. According to TMZ, there were rumors that Jade was having an affair with the rapper’s husband, Offset.
The 29-year-old rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, was also accused of ordering her group of friends to attack the sisters at the club, Complex reports.
Cardi B accepted the deal from the Queens County District Attorney’s office just a day before jury selection for her trial was set to begin. As reported by TMZ, had she not accepted the deal, her trial was set to commence on Monday, Sept. 19.
As a result of the deal, Cardi avoided jail time and was sentenced to community service. The conditions of the deal also include the “WAP” rapper having to abide by an order of protection against the sisters for three years, the New York Post reports.
The other charges in the 12-count indictment, which included two felonies, have been dropped on account of the deal.
Cardi B spoke with TMZ about her choosing the plea deal.
“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions,” said the rapper. “As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to.”
The Bronx native, who is obviously happy to finally have the drama all behind her, tweeted images of her alongside her legal team during the court proceedings with the caption “Puuuurrrrrr.” She slayed effortlessly in an all-white dress and copper hair.

The details of Cardi B’s community service have yet to be released, however, if the rapper fails to complete the hours by January 2023, she will then face jail time, The Guardian reports.
“The idea is she’s going to do something that plays to her strengths, in terms of reaching people, particularly young people,” attorney Jeff Kern said, according to The Guardian. “Positive messages about education, about staying on track.”
Cardi B was accompanied by two codefendants, friends Jeffrey Bush and Tawana Jackson-Morel. Bush has been ordered to serve six months in jail for his role in the assault.
