CeeLo Green Says 'F**k' Super Bowl Protestors While Telling Halftime Performer Big Boi To Get His Coins
Twitter was confused about who was the intended recipient of his remarks.
Last time we'd heard of singer CeeLo Green, a phone seemingly exploded in his face. Now, the "F**k You" crooner is in hot water after posting a disparaging tweet criticizing the protestors of Super Bowl LIII and former Super Bowl QB Colin Kaepernick.

In a Sunday night tweet, which has now been deleted, the Atlanta native complimented fellow ATLien Big Boi on his halftime performance. He then proceeded to chastise those who decided to stand with Kaepernick and refrain from watching the primetime football game. The former San Francisco 49ers player has been famously blackballed from the league after kneeling to protest police brutality against Black people. As a result, several artists such as Rihanna and Cardi B have sided with the activist and vowed not to perform on the Super Bowl stage while Kaepernick continued to be blackballed."F**k these so-called protestors, you just got 100m worth of press. I'll kill for you," his tweet read.
The online community did not take kindly to his remark and immediately denounced the musician's comment.
“Congrats on performing at the super bowl” wasn’t good enough. We have say fuck protestors??? pic.twitter.com/MpgF3pWQik— Asha (@asha7777) February 4, 2019
Ni**as like @CeeLoGreen make me think of the Black folks whose only problem with slavery is the fact they couldn't join in as owners. I'm not saying he's one of them I'm just saying he's got me thinking about them.— B dot Black (@bblizak) February 4, 2019
@CeeLoGreen bruh, I'm highly disappointed...smmfh— Eric Beecher (@eroc2212) February 4, 2019
Monday morning, Green tweeted an apology and claimed his previous words were posted "in the heat of the moment."
As someone who has followed you since Goodie Mob Soul Food. I was extremely hurt by those comments. I do understand we all make mistakes but you must NEVER FORGET your past and those who uplifted you to where you are today. I still got love for you and @BigBoi.
