Kyrie Irving is known for his great handles and uncanny scoring ability in basketball, but he is also a force for good off the court.

The Boston Celtics star recently gave a homeless man in Houston $240 on Thursday hours before his game against the Rockets. Irving has made headlines before for retracting his flat earth statements. In addition to his stellar play, Irving said the kind gesture was just his small part to make the world a better place.

"That's just who I am. I don't do it for looks or anything like that. I saw him when I was coming back from shooting in the morning and told him I had him next time I was coming out," Irving told NBC Sports Boston's Kyle Draper.

According to MLive, the unidentified man stood outside of the team hotel Thursday morning. Irving came back for an early morning scrimmage and a bit of shooting when he happened upon the man. Then, Irving gave the man the hefty sum of cash.

Video of the exchange went viral courtesy of TMZ Sports' initial report. In that footage, viewers can see onlookers watch on as Irving help the man.

"I'm pretty sure he was going to be waiting there for me. I just had to bless that man," Irving told NBC Sports Boston. "I'm really afforded a lot in this life that I play the game the game that I love. I just love giving back. I told you my objective is to heal the world."

Boston fell to Houston later that night. According to Bleacher Report, Irving scored 23 points in the 127-113 loss. But the team bounced back Saturday with a comeback 112-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Irving gave his game-worn kicks to a lucky fan in celebration.
