Chance the Rapper is doing his part to raise awareness of breast cancer after losing his aunt, Kimberly Bennett who passed away on May 7. Though he’s currently on tour, the rapper took to Twitter to share his aunt’s powerful and important message.“My Auntie Kim lost her battle with Breast Cancer early Sunday morning. She was a warrior and wanted me to share this,” Chance wrote. “Inflammatory Breast Cancer is commonly misdiagnosed and doesn’t come with the same symptoms.” In the four-minute video, Kimberly Bennett describes her ordeal with stage four breast cancer and offers ways for women to detect cancer early. “I first realized something was wrong when my breast was going from purple to burgundy, and it was hot and getting bigger and warmer,” she says in the video. “It was painful, so I knew something was wrong, but I just thought that it was just an infection — they come, they go.”After a trip to the doctor, Bennett was diagnosed with stage four inflammatory breast cancer. Bennett ends the video with a powerful message. " If they swell, by all means, go to a doctor. The goal of this cancer is to kill you and to kill you fast." "The only thing you can do to help yourself is to respond and react as fast as you can," she finished.

Our hearts are with the Bennett family.
