Change isn’t done happening at the University of Missouri. After UM System President Tim Wolfe resigned this morning, students, faculty and alumni on campus celebrated the result of their actions.

A little over six hours after Wolfe’s announcement, MU Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin announced that he will be transitioning to a new role as director for research facility development. This comes after the deans of nine MU colleges requested his dismissal, although that isn’t the first time Loftin received critique in his role. The transition is effective Jan. 1, 2016. Hank Foley, MU senior vice chancellor for research and graduate studies, was appointed interim chancellor.

In addition to these changes in administration, Donald Cupps, the chairman of the Board of Curators, announced some initiatives (to be implemented in the upcoming 90 days) that are intended to help the racial climate at UM System schools.
