Prairie View A&M University’s incomparable Marching Storm band is receiving acclaim from none other than Chloe Bailey herself.
Earlier this week, the band’s official Twitter account posted their soulful rendition of Bailey’s smash hit “Have Mercy” at the annual State Fair Classic, accompanied by PVAMU’s Black Foxes majorette dance team. As the video circulated timelines, Bailey chimed in to show her support, tweeting “GO OFFFFFF.”
Marching Storm recently ranked #8 on The Undefeated's list of top HBCU bands.

"Have Mercy" has catapulted across airwaves and secured a top five spot on Billboard's list of Hot R&B songs. The single delivers a proverbial middle finger to her haters and a reclamation of her autonomy.
Earlier this year, Chloe and her sister, Halle Bailey, launched separate Instagram profiles. On her new account, Chloe actress posted a show-stopping "Buss It" challenge. From there, the 23-year-old deviated from her modest beginnings and gradually began to reveal a more sensual persona. While much of the public heralded this new introduction into her new era, critics made disparaging remarks which she addressed in an emotional January Instagram Live.
“I just felt like it was important to address it, so you guys get to kind of know who I am inside. And it’s really hard to think of myself as a sexual being or as attractive, quite frankly. So, when I see all the uproar about my posts and stuff, I’m a bit confused," she said. "Like, I really don’t understand because I don’t see myself that way.”
Have mercy on this phenomenal woman's detractors. They'll need it.
