First, she conquered music. Now, Ciara is leveling up in the business world, too.

On Thursday, the "Goodies" singer announced a new business venture aimed at merging the music industry with fashion, film, technology and philanthropy. Beauty Marks Entertainment (BME) will allow the multitalented superstar to combine several of her affinities into one larger brand. Furthermore, all of her future music will be released under BME.

In an interview with Billboard on Thursday, Ciara opened up about the inspiration behind the company and using her experience of breaking into the music industry as an example of maintaining a resilient attitude in times of stress.
"The mantra of the company is that all the scars we get from the obstacles we face in life are beauty marks," she explained. "When you go through adversities and face challenges, embrace them because they make us who we are. They give us the wisdom we need to survive."

Ciara continued to mention that one of the more exciting aspects of BME will be the ability for her to start releasing music under her terms and not feel burdened by restrictions from a record company.

"The idea of ownership is really important to me and that's what this phase is about," the Atlanta native said. "It's truly about, let's really build things to where it can last for a really long time and I can really reap the full benefits of my labor. I've been in systems and the way the deals are typically structured for us artists, we don't really get to reap the full financial benefits of our labor. I love what I do."

Speaking of ownership, Ciara also announced that she recently acquired all the masters to her music.

"Being able to own my own masters has been really cool," she said onstage at the MAKERS conference in California on Thursday.

"I'm having so much fun. I'm really having the most fun I've ever had out of all my years of doing this," she continued.

While there has been no confirmation as to whether this is valid, reports are suggesting that Ciara's husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, recently purchased her music catalog for her as a Christmas gift.
