After news broke of the Philando Castile settlement in which his girlfriend and mother of his child will receive a whopping $800,000 (which doesn't even scrape the surface of the trauma caused by his death), it seems a few racists wanted to add their two cents to the total. Are we surprised? No. Annoyed, disappointed and disgusted? Absolutely.

Tom McBroom Sr., who is a sergeant in the Rice County (Minn.) Sheriff’s Department and a city councilman in the small town of Elysian, Minn., is one of those people. He took to Twitter to fire off his thoughts on the settlement all while shining a light on his true feelings.

“She needs to come off County and State Aid now that she has some cash. It’ll be gone in 6 months on crack cocaine," the tweet read.

It's always so baffling the way the Twitter fingers culture works. You were really that bold and expected it to fly? When someone asked him what led him to his conclusion, McBroom simply replied, “History.” I'd like to know how many black people he's even ever been around to conclude with that historical analysis.

Of course, he quickly deleted the Tweet instead of standing in his racist truth. When Minnesota's City Pages called him for an interview, McBroom denied he was either a city councilman or a sheriff’s officer but rather responded with “I’m a general contractor. Wrong person. Sorry.”  Way to think on your feet? He later called back and retracted his first lie (that no one believed), admitting that it had been him, but adding: “Nowhere did I say they would spend all that money on crack. I said they would spend it in six months. At no point did I say on crack cocaine.”

He also elaborated on what he meant by "history."

"I've seen them come to court. They've lost their children, but they come to court dressed to the nines with Michael Kors purses. To be frank with you, they don't have a pot to piss in," McBroom said. "I see it time and time again and I just shake my head and say why wasn't there anyone to help that person?"

Rice County Chief Deputy Jesse Thomas said he will review the incident, but it's hard to believe that most of that force doesn't share the same sentiments. Probably nothing will come of it, except maybe paid leave.
