Reggie Ossé, known to most as Combat Jack, has passed away at the age of 53.

The former attorney and host of "The Combat Jack Show" revealed in October that he had an aggressive form of colon cancer. Unfortunately, he lost the battle against it.

Combat Jack was a trailblazer in the hip-hop community, doing amazing things for the culture. He once represented some of the biggest artists in hip-hop including Jay Z as a hip-hop music attorney and executive. He received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center but it was really his internship in legal affairs for Def Jam Recordings that put him in the game. After 12 years of practicing law, he retired and entered the editorial path. He wrote and published Bling, a book highlighting hip hop's fascination with jewelry. He went on to serve as the Vice President of Audio/Music DVD at MTV Networks and was also the managing editor of hip-hop magazine, The Source. The culture mourns the loss of the Brooklyn native. it is without a doubt that he had long reached legendary status.

RIP Combat Jack. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all who are affected by the loss of such a monumental man.
