Marty sees money, but their new clients, Max and his wife, Joy, believe they are changing the world through delivering cannabis to more people. Marty’s plan is to align the dispensary with big tobacco, who can give them the money they need and the financial backing they’ve been denied.

Joy is actually more interested in a giant payday but knows her husband believes they are on a righteous crusade. She asks Marty to help sway him to do a deal that will allow them to legitimize their business and set them up for life.

Jeannie and pot don’t mix, so while the team is trying play nice, she has a little too much and spirals out of control, almost putting the deal in jeopardy.

Doug’s long-awaited talk is finally here, and the pod comes to show ‘support.’  Marty discovers a leftover package of weed truffles from their client visit, and he decides to eat all of them, which makes him connect with what he’s watching on a higher level.

It gets pretty wild.

After the talk, Clyde gets a surprise call that the tobacco company wants to have an emergency meeting to discuss Kush Vistas — which is great, except that Marty is still unbelievably high.

He’s still Marty, though and finds a way to bring the tobacco company together with Max and Joy for a partnership, another big win for Kaan & Associates.

The line that made us lose our chill:

The larger question of who gets to profit from the legal selling and distribution of marijuana is still largely unanswered. It’s being demystified as simply a harmful substance, but in many contexts, it’s still associated with delinquent behavior. This episode hit on a few of those major roadblocks; access to capital, financing and the stigma that comes with it. The future of the industry is still being written, and it remains to be seen who will have access to the capital to build and sustain businesses. There is a viable path to economic empowerment and businesses, but it matters who is in the room, who runs the business and what both parties are saying.
