You remember
comedian Hannibal Buress don’t you? The guy who’s responsible for Bill Cosby getting
all kinds of grief?
Well, he’s
the one who everyone says is the next biggest thing to hit comedy in decades,
and he’s already signed to various TV development deals, first with ABC, for a cop
comedy show, which we reported about back on Dec. 2012 (HERE) and then a
multi-platform deal with Comedy Central, which Tambay reported about two years
ago (HERE).
But there hasn’t
been much news since either of those projects was announced, other than his co-hosting Adult Swim’s "The Eric Andre Show," and as a regular on Comedy Central’s "Broad City."
However, that
has all changed. Comedy Central, yesterday, announced that their first show
toplined by Burress, will be "Why? With Hannibal Burress."
Set for 8
episodes, the show will be built around Buress’ talents and unique viewpoints
on modern day issues, which will include stand up routines, man on the street
segments and interviews with guests.
The show
will be taped in front of a live studio audience, and it’s set to premiere this
July on the cable network.
