Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino is opening up about the backlash the company recently faced after changing its “Old Timer” logo. Sitting down for an interview with The Glenn Beck Podcast, Masino said she regretted that the company made the change.

“All I’ve wanted to do was help people love this brand the way I love this brand, the way Doug loves this brand, the way everyone who works here [does],” Masino said in the interview, according to People. “The story of America is on the walls. And they thought, when we [changed the logo], that we were saying that we didn’t care about that, and that was not the intent.”

Cracker Barrel faced wide backlash after choosing to remove the popular image of the “Old Timer” leaning against its barrel in its logo, leaving only the text for a more simple look. The criticism mainly came from President Donald Trump and his conservative supporters, who were disappointed to see the company shift away from its country-style image.

Per People, Trump urged Cracker Barrel to “go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before.”

“They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right,” Trump said at that time, People reported.

Following months of backlash, Cracker Barrel reverted back to its previous logo: “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have,” the company said in a statement, according to People. “Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain.”

In her interview with The Glenn Beck Podcast, Masino said she wants to apologize to the restaurant’s loyal customers.

“I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding. I regret it,” Masino said. “I don’t want people to be mad at us.”

Beck asked Masino if she was surprised she didn’t get fired from the company amid the backlash.

“I feel like I’ve been fired by America,” she told People. “That’s probably worse.”

Despite the misunderstanding, Masino said that Cracker Barrel’s mission is to always tell America’s story through its brand.

“This is a humble brand with humble beginnings here in the center of this great country,” Masino said, according to the New York Post. “Other brands that you go into, you sit down and when you look around, and you see things on the walls, they’re the brand’s story. They’re telling you about the ingredients. They’re telling you about their founding, whatever they want you to think. We don’t do that here at Cracker Barrel
 This is America’s story.”
