Craig Robinson

Funnyman/actor Craig Robinson will star in a new series sold to NBC by The Office executive producer Greg Daniels – a yet-to-be-titled sale penned by Owen Ellickson (supervising producer for The Office).

The project, according to Deadline, will follow a talented musician (played by Robinson) with rough edges, who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school, where he encounters teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.

Robinson also has a connection to The Office as a member of its cast, since the first season.

He'll be appearing in at least 3 feature films in 2013 – The End of the World, We The Peeples, and Rapturepalooza.

The lead role in a comedy series on a major network would obviously be a good look for him. But several hurdles still have to be jumped over before it actually becomes a series; scripts have to be written, a pilot has to be shot; the NBC has to love the pilot before orderin a season, etc…
