It’s official: Paramount+ announced a series order for a revival of the long-running procedural series, Criminal Minds.
Aisha Tyler, Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster are expected to reprise their roles from the original series.
The original Criminal Minds, which ran from 2005 to 2020, followed an elite team of FBI profilers who analyzed the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they struck again.
The original series, which also starred The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore, spawned two spinoff shows, Suspect Behavior and Beyond Borders.
The revival of Criminal Minds was announced back in February 2021, with news that it would be rebranded as a 10-episode anthology that looks at one case per season.
All episodes of the new rendition of 'Criminal Minds' will be produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios exclusively for Paramount+. Erica Messer will serve as showrunner, executive producer and writer for the series.
“For 15 seasons, Criminal Minds was at the forefront of cutting-edge scripted drama as it explored the psychology behind crime – thrillingly,” said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “The series never stopped evolving during its run, and we are beyond excited to bring it back into a new era with new stories for a new generation of viewers at Paramount+. Erica, the whole cast and creative team are building a season full of new twists that we are sure will electrify audiences.”
