D'Angelo may really be making a comeback! The last time D'Angelo released an album was Grammy-award-winning Black Messiah in 2014, which followed a lengthy sabbatical itself.
According to NME, D'Angelo postponed his only scheduled (and sold out!) UK tour date for one reason and one reason only: to get back into the studio. The performance was supposed to occur at London’s Eventim Apollo Tuesday, March 6.
“As D’Angelo has been working in the studio, deep in the recording process, he apologizes to any fans that this announcement might impact and is excited to see you all in June,” read the statement released by the neo-soul singer's management company.“We thank you for your continued patience and cooperation and look forward to an amazing tour.”
D'Angelo's management company actually teased a new album from the R&B crooner last year. Since he's canceling tour appearances, this may really be worth it!
The new date for the UK performance is June 21. In the meantime, we will be anticipating D'Angelo's return. We got time!
