Darius Rucker & Kane Brown are outchea making country history!

According to the Associated Press, the two musicians just became the first minority solo artists to have back-to-back #1 songs on the Billboard Country charts in the chart's 28-year history. The Billboard Country Chart measures airplay and began in 1990.

Brown's "Heaven" held the No. 1 spot on the country chart for two weeks, and Rucker's "For The First Time" followed right behind for this week, starting June 2.

Rucker retweeted the news of his number one hit from Country Roundup's Twitter account.

Brown is biracial, born to a black father (who is also part Cherokee) and white mother. In response to the news, Brown said sharing this historic feat with Rucker felt "like an honor."

Rucker referred to it as "incredible."

Brown shouted out his fellow history maker on Twitter.

Making topping the chart especially sweet for Brown is the fact that he has struggled with racism in the country community. The Tennessean reports the artist once said, "Some people in Nashville who have [publishing] deals won’t write with me because I’m black.”

Latino singers Johnny Rodriguez and Freddy Fender followed each other twice in 1975 on Billboard's previous incarnation of its country singles chart.

Congrats to Darius Rucker and Kane Brown!
