After much anticipation, Dave Chappelle returns to the stand-up spotlight with Funny or Die’s new Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, offering fans a night of what will likely be side-splitting laughter. The Radio City Music Hall event will run from June 18 to the 26th.
I suspect it’ll be a taped and will be picked up and broadcast by a cable TV network (Comedy Central, HBO) in the future.
While we wait, how about a short sample of what to expect from Mr Chappelle, courtesy of his appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman,” last night, in a fun conversation during which the two master comedians josh about middle names, big paychecks, abrupt depatures, family and more.
It’s been 10 years since Chappelle appeared on Letterman, by the way. Consider that streak officially ended.
I enjoyed watching and listening to them talk, like 2 old friends catching up. And maybe you will too.
But it’s good to see Chappelle coming back to form, and looking a bit bulkier than I remember. He’s been tossing around a few dumbbells I hear…
