Singer Demi Lovato is currently in rehab according to an exclusive from The Shade Room.
The 26-year-old deactivated her Twitter account after posting about 21 Savage’s detainment by ICE.
“The 21 Savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl,” she tweeted during the athletic event.
While Lovato was laughing at the memes of 21, nee Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, being from the UK (i.e., videos of him rapping with a voiceover of British MCs) and not the tragic detainment from ICE officials, the tweet was still untimely and insensitive. Upon seeing the post, Twitter quickly went into “I can laugh at my brother but you can’t” mode (although some memes may have garnered a chuckle, 21’s situation and those of other ICE detainees aren’t to be made light of). Tons of memes and quips geared at Lovato were released in return, some making light of her drug addiction and previous suicide attempts.
She quickly deleted her Twitter account in response.
Now, it is said that she is back in a rehabilitation facility in Hawaii. The former Disney star was rushed to the hospital because of an apparent overdose last July and was there for three months before being released. She had been making healthy strides until her tweet about the Atlanta-raised rapper and philanthropist.
It is currently unknown how long she will be staying in the treatment center.
