Saturday Night Live cast member Devon Walker announced he’s leaving the NBC sketch comedy show after three seasons.

According to Variety, Walker, who joined SNL as a featured player during Season 48 before being promoted to a full-time cast member for Seasons 49 and 50, shared the news in an Instagram post on Monday, in which he called the show “toxic as hell.”

Walker called ‘SNL’ a “f**ked up lil family’

In a carousel post, Walker included a slide with a screenshot of his statement written on a computer in a document titled “wait..did he quit or did he get fired?” In it, the comedian likened jobs in the entertainment industry to “a bunch of little marriages,” some of which are more successful than others.

“Some of em last for a long time if we’re lucky, but most of them are fleeting. Permanent until they’re not. That’s the deal. You know what it is it when you sign up,” he wrote.

He opened up about his time on the show, which he said had its ups and downs.

“Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell. But we did what we made the most of what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction. We made a f**ked up lil family,” he wrote.

Walker expressed his gratitude for his experience at “30 Rock” and getting to share it with SNL writers and the comedian’s Dad comedy show co-hosts Alex English and Gary Richardson, as reported by NJ.com.

“It’s a beautiful thing,” he wrote.

He concluded his statement by teasing what’s next.

“Anyway, I’m bout to go to Japan. When I get back I’m tryna be in a prestige drama. Ideally something with Julianne Moore. Hope y’all staying hydrated and getting some money today,” he wrote.

In addition to his statement, Walker shared a series of pictures from his time at SNL as well as a screenshot of him texting someone “I’m out” with a partying face emoji and a photo of former President Joe Biden appearing to trip on a staircase in the rain.

“Me and baby broke up,” he captioned the post.

Walker received the least amount of screen time during Season 50

Walker’s departure comes as SNL creator and producer Lorne Michaels is revamping the show ahead of its Season 51 premiere on Oct. 4, Deadline reported.

Statistics by the Saturday Night Live Network found the comedian received the least amount of screen time during Season 50.

While on the show, Walker performed several celebrity impressions, including Frank Ocean, Michael Strahan, Shannon Sharpe, Draymond Green and Eric Adams.

Before joining the SNL cast, Walker wrote on Netflix’s Big Mouth and Freeform’s Everything’s Trash. The comedian launched a podcast, My Favorite Lyrics, in April.
