Fox TV’s Divorce Court, the longest-running courtroom series on television, has been renewed through 2015.
Twentieth Television made the announcement after the show delivered its highest November sweeps ratings in three years, a feat largely credited to its star, Judge Lynn Toler.
“Divorce Court continues to thrive on daytime television thanks to Judge Lynn Toler and the outrageous couples that enter her courtroom each day,” said Paul Franklin, Twentieth Television EVP and General Sales Manager. “Lynn’s ability to simultaneously entertain viewers while compassionately counseling her litigants is translating to ratings highs; we are thrilled that Divorce Court will remain a key component on local stations’ daytime blocks.”
Before Toler, the series featured Judge Mablean Ephraim, who led the show from 1999 through 2006.
There have been three revivals of Divorce Court since its debut in the 1950s, when it was a scripted show where actors were hired to reenact real court cases.
