Update (December 20, 2019): On the heels of a successful fundraiser in Los Angeles for presidential candidate Andrew Yang, Donald Glover has signed up to get even more involved in the movement. Glover has agreed to become a creative consultant for Yang's campaign.

Glover was the star guest at a pop-up event for the presidential hopeful's campaign on Thursday. He agreed to join the campaign team as a creative consultant right before the Democratic debate at Loyola Marymount University, where Yang was the only candidate of color onstage.

In a press release, Yang’s campaign said, “At the pop-up store in downtown Los Angeles, supporters were able to purchase limited and signed editions of Yang2020 merchandise designed by Glover’s team, including sweatshirts, hats and posters. The specialized merchandise embodies the core policies and values of Andrew Yang’s Humanity First platform and future collaborations are expected.”

Yang is ranked behind the frontrunners in the Democratic presidential race but continues to rack up celebrity endorsements like Glover, Elon Musk and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.

Original (December 19, 2019): Rapper and actor Donald Glover has teamed up with Democratic presidential contender Andrew Yang to host the 46 Campaign pop-up fundraiser in Los Angeles before Thursday's Democratic debate.

The event was announced on Glover and Yang's Instagram stories.

It is unclear if Glover is an official endorser of Yang. SY Lee, Yang's campaign spokesperson reiterated that all pertinent details were included on the pair's IG posts.

"We will let those speak for themselves," Lee stated

Fam Udeorji, Glover's manager, said funds accumulated from sales would be donated to the campaign, reports Pitchfork.

The 46 Campaign isn't Yang's first time using musicians to entice supporters. Yang also featured Weezer frontman, Rivers Cuomo, to perform at his event held in Des Moines, Iowa, dubbed Yangapalooza!

In May 2018, the actor released the video for his Billboard  Hot 100 chart-topping song, "This is America." The video was filled with powerful symbolism that explained the racial tensions that continue to fuel the hate present in the U.S.

Glover is also one of the lead actors of the FX Networks award-winning show Atlanta. The series also stars Lakeith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry. The show premiered in 2016 and was given the green light for a fourth season in August reports Shadow & Act.

Yang is a tech entrepreneur with a background in law. He vows to "Make Americans Think Harder." Yang is a huge proponent of a universal income for all citizens of the U.S. His Freedom Dividend plan would lessen the effects of automation and job loss on the American economy. Yang offered to disperse $1,000 to 10 families as a case study for his proposal.

The Democratic debate is scheduled to take place Thursday evening at Loyola Marymount University, according to Los Angeles Magazine.

Additional candidates expected to be in attendance are Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Tom Steyer.
