Drake has signed the first female artist to his record label OVO Sound, and he presented her to the world late Thursday night.

The Canadian rapper introduced artist Naomi Sharon via Instagram as the latest talent to join his label. He posted the cover art for two newly released singles, “Another Life” and “Celestial,” along with a caption exclaiming his excitement about finally being able to introduce her talent to the world.

“@naomisharon I been waiting for this day for too long now where the world finally gets to digest the insane amount of work you have put in since we met. My dear friend just dropped her single Another Life on OVO SOUND,” he wrote.

The Dutch singer commented on the post, thanking him for the opportunity and support.

“I will be forever thankful for this insane opportunity you gave me. Finally, we can share this with the world. Big love 🤍🕯️”

She joins his roster of international artists: PARTYNEXTDOOR, dvsnPopcaan, Majid Jordan, Roy Woods and Baka Not Nice.

The R&B and soul singer first debuted on the music scene in 2019 with “The Moon,” followed by her second single, “Breeze.” In 2020, she teased her fans with only one song around the end of summer called “1991.” The last time she dropped music before her two new singles under OVO Sound was in 2021, when “Hills” and “Daughter of the Sun” became available on streaming platforms.

Record producer, songwriter and record executive Noah “40” Shebib, who assisted with the production of the Rotterdam native’s two new tracks, celebrated her introduction to the world in a post on his Instagram.

In an interview with REYÈM, Sharon shared that her “inspiration comes from past events or journeys I’ve made, physically and mentally. … I’m most curious about what’s outside of this planet. The universe keeps my head busy.”
