19-year-old artist Annabelle Hayford kicked off #DrawingWhileBlack to showcase the illustrations of black artists, and with more than 23,000 likes and over 9,000 retweets, the hashtag is doing just that.

The talented artist, who had been drawing since the age of four, began the hashtag with a clearly defined purpose.

And the movement began.

In a matter of days, #DrawingWhileBlack gained international momentum.

There was art with a purpose.

And an abundance of beautiful, melinated Black Girl Magic.

So many genres.

So much talent.

Come through D.J. Kirkland.

We see every one of you!

Thank you Annabelle! We needed this.
