It has been confirmed that Edward Enninful is the new Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue.

Jonathan Newhouse, Condé Nast International chairman and chief executive, announced the news this morning. He describes Enninful as "an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood, and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist", adding that "by virtue of his talent and experience, Edward is supremely prepared to assume the responsibility of British 'Vogue.'"

Ghanian-born, Enninful spent his childhood in London and began his career in the fashion world at the age of 16 after being model scouted. He became the youngest ever fashion director for an international publication at age 18 for "i-D." His career to date has seen him work for Italian Vogue, American Vogue and consulting on countless high-fashion campaigns. Since 2011, Enninful has had the position of fashion and creative director at "W Magazine".  He will start his new role on August 1.

The fashion industry has long recognized his talent. He received the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the 2014 British Fashion Awards as well as the British monarchy acknowledging his contribution to fashion, making him OBE – Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – last October.
