Television writer and playwright Janine Nabers has inked an overall deal with Amazon Studios. Under her new deal, Nabers will will develop, produce, and write television projects with Amazon Studios to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Nabers is known for being to co-executive producer on the FX show Atlanta and the Netflix show Away, as well as a supervising producer for HBO’s Watchmen.

Nabers will begin her new overall deal with a project entitled Syd, which she will executive produce alongside Etan Marciano with Annapurna.

The story revolves around a powerful Black tech CEO whose life is upended when he discovers a mysterious entity has hacked its way into his life, forcing him to follow a series of clues to gain control of it again.

Aside from Syd, Nabers will also develop a new music series with Atlanta creator Donald Glover.

“Amazon Studios has fostered some of the most compelling voices of our generation, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with them,” Sabers said in a statement. “As a playwright and TV writer, I’m committed to writing original and subversive character-driven stories. I’m very excited for the road ahead.”

Nabers also has pilots in development at HBO and Hulu.
