The first images from The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event show uncanny recreations of the band’s iconic members.
The four pictures feature Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. Each actor has seamlessly morphed into the real people they’re portraying, setting the films up to be prime viewing for diehard fans.
The pictures were revealed on Thursday via postcards distributed to the McCartney-co-founded Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Other Beatles-centric locations the postcards were sent to include Lennon’s childhood home in Liverpool, areas in Hamburg, Germany including The Beatles Monument, Cavern Club, the Kaiserkeller and The Star-Club, and areas in New York City, such as Strawberry Field in Central Park, New York University, Columbia University, and select record stores, cafes, bars, and vintage clothing shops.
And that’s not it! Batches of postcards were also sent to areas in Tokyo, Japan, due to Lennon’s ties to the country via his wife, Yoko Ono. Postcards were sent to Abbey Road Live and Tower Records in Shibuya, Broadway Diner in Yoyogi, Tsutaya and The Capital Hotel Tokyo. Sony Pictures images were later released to the press.
Who else will star in ‘The Beatles’ films?
The films also star Saoirse Ronan, James Norton, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, Harry Lloyd, David Morrissey, Leanne Best, Bobby Schofield, Daniel Hoffman-Gill, Arthur Darvill and Adam Pally.
Each of the four films, focusing on each Beatle independently and officially supported by the band and family members, are directed by Sam Mendes, and they are expected to be released in April 2028 via Sony Pictures.
