Stormi Steele has traded in the drama of Love & Marriage: Huntsville and is now at the center of some new drama in the trailer for Belle Collective’s first spinoff, which is set in Birmingham, Alabama.
The show premieres on OWN on April 10 at 9 p.m., immediately after the season finale of the mothership series, bringing a different flavor of Belles.
What to know about the ‘Belle Collective’ spinoff
A logline reveals: “In Belle Collective: Birmingham, Stormi connects with a circle of driven, successful southern Belles all determined to transform Birmingham into a thriving destination for beauty, influence and Black entrepreneurship: her savvy CFO Amber Jones, entrepreneur Tiffaney Jones, marketing strategist Funmi Ford, and talent manager K’la Inman. As Stormi is introduced to this group of friends and spends more time in Birmingham, alliances form and tensions surface among the Belles, with old rivalries, competing visions of success and clashing personalities threatening the new group’s delicate balance. With glamour, ambition and emotional authenticity at its core, Belle Collective: Birmingham explores the real-life balancing act of business, motherhood, marriage, friendship, faith and personal reinvention.”
The trailer showcases each woman in their own elements, showcasing their respective businesses and family lives, and trying to forge friendships through the ups and downs of life. Steele is the glue to the growing friendship group. Amber is helping Steele to rapidly expand Canvas Beauty while lingering tensions between her and Inman persist. Grounded in her faith, Tiffaney tries to unite the group through prayer and commitment, while also putting a spotlight on helping others’ marriages as her own marriage and family life continue to go viral. Ford’s outspokenness ruffles a lot of feathers within the collective, and she’s also dealing with some marital trouble related to finances. Inman is putting herself first following the end of her 18-year marriage, leading to a rebirth both personally and professionally. The show is set to give its predecessor some fierce competition.
The series is produced by Kingdom Reign Entertainment for OWN, with Carlos King as executive producer.
