Beyond the Gates is inviting a new cast member to its ranks.

According to Deadline, Greg Vaughan has been cast in a mystery role on the popular CBS daytime soap. The outlet reports that creator Michele Val Jean teased the casting in July when she said she was casting a “hot male” to the series.

We will know who Vaughan is playing at a later date, but fans had an idea that Vaughan would be joining the cast when cast member Trisha Mann Grant posted an Instagram video wishing fellow cast member Clifton Davis a happy 80th birthday. Vaughan was seen in the background of the video, according to the article.

Greg Vaughn is most known for playing Eric Brady on ‘Days of our Lives’

Vaughan is a soap opera vet, having starred on Days of Our Lives between 2012 and 2024 as Eric Brady, a character that has been a part of the soap opera since the 1980s. Vaughan took over the role of the now-adult Eric, who became a priest but still has romantic entanglements with romantic interest Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and has tons of drama and scandal, such as going to prison for vehicular manslaughter.

His other soap roles include ‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’

Vaughn previously had roles on The Young and the Restless from 2002 and 2003, playing Diego Guittierez, and he notably played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital from 2003 to 2009. His primetime roles include Calvin on multiple seasons of Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar.

Beyond the Gates stars Davis and Tamara Tunie as the Duprees, the patriarch and matriarch of a powerful Black family in a Maryland suburb outside of Washington D.C. The soap opera follows the scandal and intrigue that ingulfs the family as they try to keep their squeaky-clean image up for the public.
