Laila Pruitt, who starred in all four seasons of Starz’s BMF, has nabbed one of the three lead roles in the upcoming Netflix series, I Suck at Girls.

The comedy series is based on the autobiography of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Justin Halpern. Kayo Martin and Jeremy Ray Taylor have been cast in the other lead roles.

Here’s the logline: Three awkward high school sophomores stumble through the messy world of teenage romance and identity, learning that sucking at girls is just part of growing up.

Who will Laila Pruitt, Kayo Martin and Jeremy Ray Taylor play in the series?

Martin will play Steven, Taylor is Garrett and Pruitt is Anna.

Halpern and Patrick Schumacker are the showrunners, writers, and also executive produce. Other executive producers are Bill Lawrence, Jeff Eingold and Liza Katzer for Doozer Productions, and Chet Dave for Delicious Non-Sequitir Productions.

Tracey Pakosta, Netflix Vice President of Comedy Series, US, said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to partner with Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Bill Lawrence to bring Justin’s hilariously relatable autobiography, I Suck at Girls, to the screen. They have a rare ability to turn deeply personal, unconventional ideas into culture-defining series that are sharp, funny, and deeply human. This show captures universal truths about life and relationships with authentic heart and humor, we believe it’s a story audiences will genuinely love and connect with.”

Halpern said, “I’m incredibly excited to make a show that can hopefully capture the funny, emotional and oftentimes humiliating experience of growing up. As opposed to just the emotional and humiliating experience of my life as an adult.”

The studio is Warner Bros. Television, where both Halpern and Schumacker’s Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions have under overall deals.
