Damson Idris has booked his first project following the success of F1.

The actor, who already has a huge next couple of years with the upcoming release of The Children of Blood and Bone, will lead Netflix’s upcoming political thriller, The Lord’s Day, which is an adaptation of the novel by House of Cards author Michael Dobbs.

Per the description, as confirmed by Netflix, Idris plays a “British spy who finds himself inside the Parliament amidst an escalating siege. Loyalties are tested, sacrifices are made. Can he use his skills to save his country?”

Per What’s On Netflix, the series will have six episodes. UK production outfit Bad Wolf is producing.

When will production start?

Idris will also executive produce the project. Writing the series are Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, and they’ll also executive produce.

Ban Chanan is directing and executive producing. Jane Tranter and Dan McCullouch are executive producing for Bad Wolf. Joel Collins is also executive producing and Chris May is a producer.

Filming is set to begin this spring.
