Doja Cat isn’t playing games with Taco Bell and she made a song to show just how serious she is about fighting for the Mexican Pizza’s revival.

The artist shared her song on TikTok earlier this week and it’s all about highlighting the allure of the beloved food item, which was discontinued in 2020.

“Hi, I made a song about Mexican Pizza because I love it so much. I wish that Taco Bell didn’t discontinue it a year ago and this led me to this monstrosity of a beat that I just made,” Doja Cat said, “I made a verse and I hope you like it—and if you don’t, I understand. So let’s go.”

The 26-year-old rapper then cues her music and delivers her fast food-inspired song. Viewers can also see most of the lyrics onscreen and the very first lines are “I got beans, I need meat, I need a shell with the sauce and cheese.” Some other noteworthy onscreen lyrics include “I’ll end you if you ever go discontinued” and “I like my pizza with refried beans.”

Doja Cat’s TikTok also includes a particular reference to an old SpongeBob SquarePants episode involving the titular character and Squidward delivering a Krusty Krab Pizza as she rounds off her song by singing “Mexican pizza is the pizza for you and me.”

The clip soon went viral, though it’s worth noting that Doja Cat was sure to clarify that the song was “contractual,” and she “made it terrible on purpose.”

“Before you see that s**t, just know it’s contractual. Shhh, I know it’s bad,” she said in a separate upload.

Contractual or not, this upload certainly fits Doja Cat’s brand, as she has been publicly speaking on the matter since Sept. 2020.

“Please @tacobell, bring back Mexican pizza and spicy potato soft taco. I’m asking you nicely first,” she tweeted.

Doja Cat then tweeted about the Mexican Pizza a few more times throughout 2021, with her stance on the matter growing more and more fierce over time.

The “Say So” artist even unabashedly tried using her leverage as a Taco Bell partner, which was announced late last year, to get her beloved Mexican Pizza back. Just last month, she wrote, “If you aren’t going to bring back the Mexican Pizza @tacobell, at least give the people something. #TacoBellPartner#ButNotAHappyPartner.”

While it’s unclear if Taco Bell’s fan-favorite Mexican Pizza will ever return, the fact that The company contracted doja Cat’s recent upload suggests that there’s at least a chance the food item may eventually come back.
