The HBO Harry Potter series has showcased over two minutes of footage, revealed its Season 1 title and also revealed an earlier-than-expected premiere date in its newly released teaser trailer. The first season of the show will be called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The footage showcases the titular character being bullied at school at home, before receiving a letter and heading to Hogwarts, and meeting figures such as Hagrid and Dumbledore. He also meets Hermione and Ron, and we see many figures appear in the trailer, including Paapa Essiedu’s Snape.

There is nothing special about Harry Potter – at least that’s what his Aunt Petunia always says. On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world for Harry: one of fun, friendship and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past.

When does ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ premiere on HBO?
