HBO is developing and half-hour comedy about sneaker culture, coming from LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment.
It will be a part of SpringHill’s film and TV deal with Warner Bros. TV.
The show’s description reads, “Written by Shawn Wines (High Maintenance) and Lemon Andersen (She’s Gotta Have It), the untitled Sneaker Store Project centers on two best friends and their wild employees at an up-and-coming sneaker shop outside L.A., where they take on the insane and obsessive world of sneaker culture.”
James and Carter seem perfect for this, as Carter negotiated James’ lifetime deal with Nike. They also invested in a Miami sneaker store and are both on KITH’s advisory board.
Wines and Anderson will be executive producers with James and Carter.
This will be SpringHill’s latest foray into television series, as they also produce Survivor’s Remorse on Starz and gameshow The Wall on NBC.
