Ava DuVernay has announced her latest venture, a new show with NBC called Home Sweet Home. The series is now in the process of casting families to share their stories.
According to NBC, the series will follow “two families who lead very different lives for a life-changing experience through this full-immersion cultural experiment.”
“The show chronicles the fierce curiosity and sense of adventure it takes to walk a mile in another person’s shoes by challenging racial, religious, economic, geographic, gender and identity assumptions as participants exchange homes for a week and experience the life of someone unlike them in intimate and dynamic ways,” states the show’s official description.
DuVernay announced the series in a video posted to Twitter.
“We are different and we want to celebrate [that as] we discover the beautiful things we have in common,” she said.
